Поддерживаемые форматы: BMP, IPEG, PNG, TIF, GIF, TGA и собственный формат PDN. Основные возможности: работы со слоями, применение эффектов, работа со сканером и камерой, коррекция красных глаз, масштабирование от 1% до 3200%. Графический редактор Paint.NET отличается продуманным интерфейсом и значительной функциональностью по сравнению со стандартным редактором Paint. Тут поддерживается работа со слоями (в том числе с прозрачными), удобная настройка панелей инструментов, удаление эффекта красных глаз (опция Red-Eye). Кроме того, программа содержит общие инструменты для работы с графикой, позволяет в удобном виде менять размер изображения, увеличивать чёткость картинки. Встроенными средствами Paint.NET на редактируемое изображение можно накладывать различные эффекты. Обратите внимание: для нормальной работы программы необходимо, чтобы в системе был установлен Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. В этой версии появился новый многооконный интерфейс, добавлен инструмент для нанесения градации цветов, расширен список накладываемых эффектов, улучшен интерфейс и оптимизирована работа с файлами истории программы. It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing. The programming language used to create Paint.NET is C#, with a small amount of C++ for installation and shell-integration related functionality.
